The communications industry began structural changes several years ago, and this year the process was further accelerated. Content has become a key element of the game and the entry of foreign players has affected the local players. It’s true that we don’t see the physical entry of foreigners into the domestic market, but the ease with which we can purchase content online also affects consumption habits here.

This year, cellular companies have become content providers, and essentially all of them provide multi-channel television services, Internet and landline phones. Bezeq continues its effort to integrate the other companies into its group, so far without success.
In fact, we see an increasingly sophisticated market in which all players offer the full range of products, and all suffer from instability and a lack of distinctiveness in what they offer, while customers migrate freely between them on the basis of occasional promotions. In 2019 prices will inevitably rise, if only because currently all players are struggling to show profitability.
